“A champagne Moment”

Tonight is one of the proudest moments of my career and my time at MOCC as a member, player and captain.
Firstly the supporter’s group tonight definitely topped that of Monday night. Thank you to each and every one of you for coming down.
So many amazing highlights from the game. Nathan Adams another superb starting over, could have had a wicket and was a strong start for us. Great to have Ryan Thwaites back in a Marko shirt and he started strongly from the bottom end but some big hitting from the opposition saw a couple of sixes at the end of his over.
For me the star bowler of the evening on his 6’s debut at just 15 years old. Jack Adams showed maturity beyond his years bowling with pace and accuracy. A wide, which wasn’t, would have made his over the lowest scoring of their innings.
Joe Peveritt came on and showed us that taking the pace off the ball was the way forwards and bowled a strong over. Sammy Linford found a batter who was in form, after 73 in his first game and a 50 in this game, and took a liking to Sammy’s bowling. Another dropped catch didn’t help our cause and the opposition finished on 90 from 5 overs. A tough but gettable target for us.
Joe P & myself opened up the innings and wow! Joe continued his form from the previous game taking the first over for 24 with some superb batting. Then it was my turn next and I took the 2nd over for 24 too bringing us to 48-0 from 2 overs.
Joe continue with some solid striking and big sixes from the next over and I was beginning to get in my stride. The next over I went all out to take the game away from Newborough. Joe first ball 1 put me on strike and 2 fours and 3 six’s left us needing 11 runs from the last over.
Joe didn’t disappoint taking the first ball for 4, followed by some steady batting which saw us needing 2 to win off the last ball with myself on strike. I kept my head and clipped it out to deep square leg and we ran the two. The Marko supporters erupted and we made it into Finals Night !!!!
